Rocky Mountain National Park Opens!

On Wednesday June 3, 2020 Angelina, Marilyn Hunt and I went to visit Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, and the weather was perfect. On the drive up we stopped at the Colorado Cherry Company and sampled their treats; cherry pie, molasses and snickerdoodle cookies. Once in the park, we drove to the waterfall above that was created from the Lawn Lake Flood. I believe it may be named "Chasm Falls", but I could be mistaken. We walked to the falls, along the river and found a sandy area (mini beach) there that was peaceful. The views from here were spectacular and there were snow capped peaks that capture the essence of Colorado. Then we drove to Sprague Lake and enjoyed a half mile walk around that lovely lake. It was fun to see this man fishing, but it looked cold to me. Elk were plentiful in Estes Park, where we shopped a bit and ate lunch at a burger place. That was the first time we have eaten inside a restaurant since Covid began and it was quite odd. We all had an action packed day, thanks for the invite Cuz'. -Mona
