Yesterday afternoon, Angelina and I walked to the ¨El Jardin de Doms¨ and the view was quite expansive with the Mountain Ventoux in plain view to the East and the Range called the Alpilles toward the South. The gardens are beautiful, even in Winter and we saw many statues, a lovely pond with many mallards, a memorial site for fallen heroes and a view of the city at sunset. The Palace of The Popes with the golden statue of Mary was especially radiant in the setting sun. We found the castle like structure to be fascinating, and I adored the statue of ¨Venus With Swallows¨ in the pond center. It was the perfect walk for a gorgeous sunset, I highly recommend a visit here.
Here is a bit of history: The hill overlooking the Rhone was the sight of the very first inhabitants of Avignon some 5000 years ago. Wonderful view over the bridge, Villeneuve lez Avignon and the old city of Avignon. Playground, refreshments and snacks available here.
I had a nice time going to the ¨El Jardin de Doms¨ with Mom and it made me feel so at home seeing the mountains in the background. I miss the snow a little bit but it´s nice to have an in between. It going to be fun to have a Christmas in a new place. I loved the Venus statue with all of the ducks around her I´m glad that they have a shelter other than the river. -Angelina

Merry Christmas you two! We have a little tree on a table too! We're having a chillaxing holiday as mom and dad are under the weather + Hailey is not coming up. If it stops raining I hope to go for a long walk early, before Zofia is up. When she gets up we're going to make waffles. Love, Katie
