Our New Apartment

Writer's picture: mnjsalsamnjsalsa

We are quite pleased with our new space here in Phuket. There is a prediction for rain, rain and more rain for the next two weeks, so we will make the best of it. Our street is full of restaurants and shops, with a grocery store similar to Sprouts, so lots of cooking. We will also try and finish our current books, (they weigh too much, so we read them & leave them). We have already enjoyed the pool and the gym, and I am thrilled that there is a clothes washer! No dryers to be had in any of the places we have stayed for nearly three months, hanging out on the lines is typical. Except one, thank you Kookaburra Inn for having a dryer, when you travel, it is necessary for cleanliness to dry your clothes. I have to hand it to all these people who have patience enough to hang dry and it is saving the planet too, well done! We are in the Thalang District, Soi Chemgtalay, for a bit and then will move to the Mueang District for our second week here. It is a good feeling to be in safe, clean accessible places, it makes you feel more at home. The fourth picture, Angelina took this morning from the lanai, of a Thai Blue Bird. It is blue and black with an orange belly, so colorful. The view from the porch is quite beautiful, there is an open space with natural ponds and the trees are so green, mountains in the distance. Night time there is a symphony of frogs, crickets, cicadas, wow! It is like sleeping in the jungle minus the scorpions.
