Our Hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Mahendra Singh

We traveled with K K Holidays N Vacations for the 5 Day India tour, and we recommend it highly. The first day was spent touring Delhi, the next day Agra and the following two days we toured Jaipur, then day five was delivery to the airport and a travel day. The couple above are our hosts, Mr. Mahendra Singh and his wife, Mrs. Parwati Mahendra, their gorgeous home is called, Harnawa Haveli. We had the pleasure of staying the two Jaipur nights there. Her Indian cooking was delicious and because it was near Diwali, we had some sweet treats also. I placed a picture of the royal palace in the center on the lower row, as it depicts the name ¨Pink City¨ which is how Jaipur is referred to. It is because when the British Lieutenant was to visit, the entire city was painted in his honor, and thus it became known for the pink color, terracotta really, from then on. The red sandstone underneath the paint also naturally has a reddish color to it. Our driver, Vijay, was so safe and knew all the great restaurants and took us places that were unscheduled (like Monkey Temple), so we thought he rocked! Our tour was just a taste of India, and many people we have met fell in love with India and stayed. There is so much to see, as it is a large country and has the second highest population in the world (1,339 billion). So we left it to the experts to guide us, and they did a superb job. Yesterday morning we left Delhi, and are now in Athens, Greece. We made some new friends and will never forget India. The history and the sights are an attraction, but the heart of India rests in her people and the beauty of her lands.
