Mountain Get Away

A couple of weekends ago we joined our friends; Kelly, Lance, Bill and Iris for an overnight in Silverthorne, CO (Summit County). We enjoyed a hike from above their condo into the Eagle's Nest Wilderness and took a trail for a few hours that led to Lily Pad Lake at the base of Buffalo Mountain. The time flew by and soon we were in Frisco driving back to the original start point. Kelly, Bill and Lance told us that area has some of the largest and oldest Aspen trees in the entire state. I was so happy to be in the mountains again, and to spend time with these lovely people. Lance cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast, thank you so much! We played a game called, "Ticket To Ride"and the girls won! It reminded me of a favorite game my family plays called, "Seidler" and we all had fun playing. We are so grateful to have been invited to share your wonderful "Vutopia", thank you so much! -Mona

It was really fun to visit my friends condo in Silverthorne on Labor Day weekend. I loved spending time with Iris and her family. This first day we drove up to the condo and went on a really pretty hike on a trail not far from their house. The condo is really nice, Iris had a plastic sled and we rode the sled down the stairs of the condo. Iris had also set up a hammock outside and we went there at night, it was cool to hammock in the night with such a beautiful setting in the background. I enjoyed playing a game called "Ticket to Ride" I would highly recommend playing this, it was a surprise that Iris and I won together because we were the underdogs the whole time! It was a really pleasurable first day in the mountains! -Angelina
