On June 7, 2019 we visited Fairmount Cemetary, to honor the lives of my grandparents, Louis Vaughn Labaree and Marguerite Lucille (Tennant) Labaree and their son, Joseph Labaree. My cousin, Robert and his wife, Gillian visited from Long Beach, CA to spread his father's ashes here at the grave sites of our Grandparents, and also in Rocky Mountain National Park. The day was mostly sunny, and we were able to place some patriotic flower arrangements on their graves. Marilyn Hunt, our cousin, my Parents, and my sister, Christina Jasper from California were with us for this special remembrance. We all enjoyed Thai food afterwards at Tommy's, one of our favorites. It was an opportunity for each of us to speak our thoughts, feelings and memories of my Uncle, Joe Labaree as we spread his ashes to rest with his parents.
Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, was founded in 1890. It is the second oldest cemetery in business after the Riverside Cemetery. It was designed by German landscape architect Reinhard Schuetze. The cemetery was inspired by Mount Auburn Cemetery in Boston. The cemetery is 280 acres. I found this interesting and now that we have visited after many years, Angelina and I may visit more often. -Mona
