December 28, 2018 we ventured out to find new places in Avignon and we discovered this historic street well known for the water wheels and the India print fabrics created there from the power generated. It also had two churches in the area, but we happened upon a boutique that reminded us of our favorite at home, Kat´s Eye Boutique. This one is called ¨Les Plumes Du Paon¨ which means Peacock Feathers, and the hat maker there, Claire also reminded us of Kat, very helpful and has a good eye for the unique and stylish. Angelina found a cute dress and I found a skirt & tights to match. We admired many items in her shop, and know that the hat in the window would suit Hailey (my niece) perfectly. We had a fantastic walk and shop! -Mona
It was fun to walk around a different street and see more of Avignon. When I saw the giraffe dress in the window I knew it was so me! It was nice to meet the giant Santa Claus too! The old church is so beautiful too! -Angelina
great photos gals! The shop looks like it was fun to explore! I love the scarlet hat in the window. How nice you were able to meet Claire. I would love to learn to make a felt hat of fine quality. I am re-reading Pillars of the Earth while on vacation. It tells about the inventions of a wheel created to full wool instead of man's hands; as well as, how early wool merchants created a profitable business. It's my 3rd time reading it. I love the history about different generations building a cathedral in a small village in England. The village becomes a town..
