Journey & Toto

On Monday, March 28, 2022 we happened to have an opportunity to go to a concert at the brand new Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to see Journey and Toto. Two of my favorite bands from the 80's for certain. I remember in high school we would park at lights and look out over Monterey Bay and listen to the song, "When the Lights Go Down in the City." Although it was written about San Francisco, we always thought of it as about our bay. Journey played; Don't Stop Believin', Any Way You Want It, Faithfully, Wheel in the Sky, Who's Crying Now. I have to say, both bands still have it after all these years. The new singer for Journey, Arnel Pineda, has been with the band since 2007 & is just as good as Steve Perry. Toto played my three favorites; Africa, Rosanna, and Hold the Line, so it was awesome. The arena is able to seat 17,200 people for concerts & it was just about full Monday night. It is the most progressive and sustainable arena in the world, with 1. Carbon Zero, 2. Zero Single-Use Plastic, 3. Water Conservation, 4. Zero Waste. I appreciate the solar panels & off site supplementary renewable energy for 100% renewable energy power. It is truly amazing! The concert was quite serendipitous and was a blast for us! -Mona
