The first four pictures are of January 24, 2019 and the rest are from the 25th. This restaurant O' Delice was very good I liked the owners chicken wrap. I also enjoyed playing Frisbee with Mom even though I'm not a straight pass. -Angelina

We love the brown speckled seagulls here, and today I woke to their calls, it won't be long now and we will be gone from this oasis. The flag of St. Malo is above, as well as one of the medallions found around the town featuring the ermine. The ermine shows up on the Coat of Arms and on the city flag wearing a gold scarf. The flag is divided into four quarters, three blue and one red, by a white cross. The ermine links Saint Malo to Brittany while the red background symbolizes the cities' corsair past. Corsairs flew red flags when they were attacking. In 1946, the ermine was added a scarf of ermine. In the 1970's, a variant of the flag showed the ermine passing over a yellow portcullis, as can be seen on the municipal coat of arms. A portcullis is a heavy vertically-closing gate typically found in medieval fortifications, consisting of a latticed grille made of wood, metal, or a combination of the two, which slides down grooves inset within each jamb of the gateway.

We enjoyed some Frisbee at the beach, and would my Dad please identify these white things on the beach? They are sort of sponge feeling, shaped like an oval, and I can not identify whether it is plant or mollusk. Dad taught Oceanography at Carmel High School for many years, and his classroom was like Doc Rickets' lab in Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. Even though I have taken Oceanography, I do not know this species (Chiton, possibly)?

After that, we had lunch for our second time at the restaurant, O'Delice, where Stephen serves up a very tasty curried chicken pita sandwich. Each day we walk to the sea and try to savor the moments here. -Mona

that sounds good! enjoy! those things look like half of a muscle but if they are spongy I don't have any idea what they are. Love you, Chrissy
