Glisteri Beach Walk

Writer's picture: mnjsalsamnjsalsa

Today after our nice tour of the Episcope by our very kind host Alexandra we went on a hike to Glisteri Beach. We had wanted to go to Glisteri beach when we rented our car but did not go through with it because the roads were very steep. We decided to take a little hike there instead. We walked through some farm areas and saw chickens, goats, geese, cats, and sheep. There was a cute cat that we encountered that followed us almost all the way to the beach and then when we returned it was waiting for us on the way back. He or she walked until it couldn´t walk anymore and sadly, we had to leave it behind. We fell in love with this affectionate cat that purred non-stop and rubbed against our feet. The beach was a small one but very pretty just like every beach we´ve seen. We took a couple pictures and prepared for our hike back to Skopelos. It was 2.7 miles to get to Glisteri beach, the total was 5.4 miles. It felt much farther but there were many hills along the way. It was really nice to get some fresh air and see the country side! This is definitely a great place for hiking. -Angelina

That looks like a big walk and so pretty! the thistle plant is Echinops exaltus. I used to grow it for drying and wreaths. It is purple like artichokes when in bloom. The leaves actually look a lot like artichokes too but it's a smaller plant. Be talking to you soon over at the folk's house!
