Our first day in Quito we visited Mitad Del Mundo, the middle of the world. The equatorial line dividing our world into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, literally. I found the bottle brush tree here similar to the bushes my Dad grew in Pebble Beach, and wanted him to see it as this beautiful tree. The hummingbirds were an added Art flair at this historic monument.
In our group were; Diego, Mona, Jorge and Angelina. I thought that it was really interesting how people in the 1700s found out about how this exact spot is the middle of the world. In the backround of the picture with me and my dad is a inactive volcano called pululahua. People live inside the volcano because of the fertile land.
So much family! So much beauty! So much history! What a great adventure! Love you, Katie
