Ferry Ride

Writer's picture: mnjsalsamnjsalsa

September 17, 2018 we took a journey across the city to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, and we began with an unexpected ferry ride in the opposite direction. This ferry was headed to the New Farm area, so we got to see the Story Bridge and this area to the South of Spring Hill. The bird on the pier is known as the, "Welcome Swallow" and I was so happy to have seen it and the purple flowering tree.

I think that's called Jacaranda , mimosifolia. Mother loves those. They don't grow here in Chico but they do grow in SoCal. Sunset Garden book says it's a Brazilian native. The little bird is gorgeous! Did the ferry eventually go where you had planned?
