Happy November first everyone! Today, Angelina and I arrived in Delhi, India and really like the place we are staying in New Delhi, called the Hotel Florence. We have stayed mostly in airbnbs and one inn previous to this, and it is nice to have a free breakfast and room service. We had our first day to sleep, eat and sight see with a very nice driver, Rajesh. He is in the white shirt and was so kind to embrace this man who entered the photo. The Parliament Building and India´s Government Building are shown at the top, near the fountain. They really reminded me of Rome and the colossal building sizes there. The arch reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. We saw many peregrine falcons around this area, monkeys and ibis. The next stop was the Arch of India followed by the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. I have always wanted to come here for that sole purpose, as he is truly one of the astounding examples of selfless love for mankind. He is an example of the fact that one person can change the world and influence others in a positive direction eternally. I was moved to tears several times while walking around this beautiful memorial site. Our final stop was the Red Fort, and we just quickly walked from the car, a few photos and got back in. Tomorrow on our tour we may have more time there. A fantastic first day in Delhi! -Mona

Today was quite an exciting day! First day in India, yay! I loved seeing the Government building´s they are so pretty and there was so much space. The India Gate was really cool too, it is dedicated to the 70,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army that died during the First World War. Even though the India Gate is a war memorial it captures the architectural style of the triumphal arch, which is why it is compared to the Arc de Triomphe, it was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. India Gate is among the largest war memorials in India. I am so happy that we got to see Ghandi´s Grave, I don´t know much about him but he has influenced so many people around the world. I intend to learn more about him during our stay here in India. Today was a fantastic day! -Angelina
