Christmas in Naples

Writer's picture: mnjsalsamnjsalsa

December 7, 2018 we walked along the famous, ¨Via San Gregorio Armeno¨ that is known for the carved wooden statues and nativity scenes. We enjoyed gelato while we admired the handiwork and creativity of the local craftsman. It was super packed and we were told that people from all over Italy come here to shop for these figurines, as they are a specialty from Naples. We were especially taken by the miniatures, and the mechanized movements powered by electricity that made the figures move. We talked about making a nativity scene like these when we return home. It looks like so much fun to Christmas shop here, with many unique gift ideas.
