On December 24, 2018 Angelina and I walked around Avignon and found two beautiful churches; Eglise Saint Pierre up at the top and the Notre Dame des Doms for the remainder of the photos. I favor the Golden Statue of Mother Mary, who quite resembles the Virgin of Quito that I am so fond of in Ecuador. She looks over Avignon and also has a crown of stars, without the snake as on Panecillo. Once again, paintings, statues, ornate domed ceilings abound in this cathedral overlooking the city. We walked the famous garden and saw new things, such as this swan fountain that is asleep for the Winter, and this stately tree. I loved the pyrocanthia berries, as they remind me of our home in Pebble Beach, CA. My Dad, had a bush that grew all along our back fence, bright red, just like this one! -Mona
