On December 8, 2018 Angelina and I walked to this historic castle in Naples, entitled, ¨Castle Nuovo¨ which means ¨New Castle¨ in English. It is quite beautiful and was first built in 1279 as a royal seat for Kings of Naples, Aragon and Spain until 1815. It is a Medieval Castle located in front of the Piazza Municipio and the city hall. It was built by Pierre de Chaulnes and rebuilt by Guillem Sagrera in 1479. We just walked the outside, as it was only open for a special exhibit. I loved the sheer size of it, the moat area and the material used was sandstone and has certainly stood the test of time. Truly a traditional castle in every sense.-Mona
Charles of Anjou, the head of the French dynasty in Naples, failed to find a place to live in castle Castel Capuano in Naples. Therefore, he decided to have someone build a castle for him elsewhere. What better place to have a castle than a palace by the sea?-Angelina
