Our host, Sean suggested the Coffee Club for a brunch, and it was handily located near the Eagle Street Pier (within walking distance). We enjoyed their yummy food and Angelina had a banana & honey fruit smoothie. Beyond that, on the walking path along the river, was the City Botanic Gardens (also free). It was quite beautiful and we are here at the perfect time, as they had just planted the Spring display. We have been pleasantly surprised to find Starbucks in Lima, Peru and now Australia. So why don´t we carry these electric donuts in the states? We have some items that they don´t have, such as my Via Instant Iced Coffee, need I say more. We also happened upon this monument to a fallen firefighter, and want to thank Glenn and all the firemen we know. It is a very heroic and risky job to undertake, so thank you for helping others. Mom, they had a garden club that reminded me of Tavern On The Green in Central Park, NY. Remember eating there on our East Coast trip? The building with the veranda is the old Parliament Building on the QUT (Queensland University of Technology) campus and the domed building is the Treasury Building of Brisbane. We are loving this city, it is possible to see so much (without spending a ton of money, as the sights are all free!) We walk all around every day too, so lots of cardio.

I love the blue flower display. You girls are wearing just the right colors to have your pics taken in it! I also really like the sculpture of the 2 tall birds and the man in the pond. FYI- Charlie used to grow the seeds from one original Taxodium distichum and we sold trees at the nursery from those tiny seeds. They are the Florida state tree as well as a relative to the Dawn Redwood which is a deciduous Redwood tree. We had one in the middle of the tree tie-ups in our nursery. The common name for the Taxodium is Bald Cypress. Thank you for all the great pics and travel log! The memorial to Thomas James Mooney…
