January 3, 2019 we arrived in Lyon, France and got settled into our new apartment. Then we went on a walk to the river and found this astounding bridge and museum. The bridge, Pont Raymond Barre and is named after a former Mayor, Economist and Politician. We may return to visit the museum on another day, as it looks and sounds interesting. It is the Musee des Confluences, which is a Science Center and Anthropology museum opened in 2014. It was designed by an Austrian firm to resemble a floating crystal cloud of stainless steel and glass. Angelina thought it looked like the Mother ship in Star Wars and I thought because of the flags that it was something political, so...we ended up walking 4.35 miles total from our place. I really love the river cities! -Mona
Our first day exploring was really fun and freezing. I really liked the structure of the museum and like the pedestrian and cyclist bridge. It was nice to walk, good exercise! The style of bridge of the Raymond Barre bridge is a bow-string bridge and construction began in 2011 and was finished in September 2013. - Angelina
