A walk about Brisbane, back to our inn from the Queen Street shopping area. Featured here is the Anzac Memorial, with a burning torch in the center. This stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, their celebration day, similar to our Memorial Day and Veteran´s Day is held on; April 25 and is celebrated Australia-wide. However, holiday arrangements vary in states and territories. If April 25 is on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is a day off for most Australians in: Australian Capital Territory. We also walked by the old Central Station and I appreciate the old and the new architecture here in Brisbane.
