A Night Out in Chiang Mai

Writer's picture: mnjsalsamnjsalsa

We began our day yesterday at a local coffee shop for some treats and we used our straws from HUMC! Thank you Pastor Brad, here is our picture from Chiang Mai, Thailand with our recyclable and reusable straws. The consumption of plastic here is unreal, and I would like to see a recycling center created. The next pictures are from Maya Shopping Mall, it is polished, modern and they play good music, so even I (a non shopper) felt like shopping. We played air hockey and I won! (8-2) Angelina looked surprised, then I told her that was my college game, so yeah. We saw a space called, CAMP As Is, where people can study, visit, hang out and get free WiFi. It was connected to a small cafe, but seemed more like a library, neat. A high tech Tattered Cover. There was an observation deck and the view to this side of the city was once again reminding me of Boulder. After eating downstairs in the Maya, where the locals go, for some non Thai, Chipotle type food, we headed over to the Night Bazaar. This man was singing ¨Dust In The Wind¨ by Kansas, and I loved it! It is good to feel at home sometimes. We sat for a few moments enjoying the sights, scents and people watching. Last couple of pictures are the red wagon truck taxis. These are how we get around daily and nightly. You might want to hold on inside and wear a mask to filter all the exhaust that comes in through the open back end. We topped off the night with a swim and began organizing the November portion of our trip, Greece.

Hi! sorry I have not been able to follow you until today. As you both know I am a dog walker and this summer was brutally hot! Now sitting here in a down jacket:)

You both look so happy! It is fun seeing all the places that you have been and you are teaching us so much about the history of places. It was fun to see you both with the

'church' straws - what a connection :). Reading about Chiang Mai and their culture and then to see The Hard Rock Café on the same page was a bit dizzying :).

Angelina, Jack loves pistachio and mango mochi's :) Love your cat T shirt!

I walk by Bryant Webster…
