We joined in the celebration of eclectic art at Kelly Mansfield's opening of, "Broken Open" on July 19, 2019. Our appreciation of creativity and unique art (these were made of rejected materials) was completely satisfied and what discoveries we experienced! We also saw friends and made new ones here at the NEXT Gallery. Angelina and Iris are shown next to the re-created sink that Kelly and Iris made. In the family of artists are; Iris, Lance and Kelly. The three amigas are; Jolayne, Mona and Kelly. The three teens are; Iris, Angelina and Ethan. We enjoyed a meal at Max's down the street from the gallery, good Mexican food and also got to know Lance's Dad, Bill. Kelly had a fantastic opening, and many friends and family from Saint Mary's Academy (where she teaches Art) came to support her. Amazing woman to continue to thrive and create with inspiration and vigor one of a kind pieces. She is giving back to Mt. Saint Vincent's Home a portion of her earnings, as she taught there in the past and wants to support their work. We are grateful for the invite, and will frequent the gallery in the future. -Mona
It was really fun to go to Kelly's Art Opening. My favorite piece was the painting of the heart with all of the colors. My friend Iris helped her Mom with a lot of the art and she explained to me what they did to make the birds and the awesome colors in the sink. It was nice to look at art with her and talk about our opinions of that piece. It was cool that we also got to see our friend Ethan and we talked with him a bit. There were also nice snacks and we made our own Italian sodas where we could choose special flavors. Then, we went to a really nice restaurant we both got a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Yummm! It was an awesome evening and I can't wait to go to the next art opening! -Angelina
